Previous |  Contents | Next Download the eBook There are so many reasons why the printed image matters, but long term accessibility to your most treasured photos is surely a deal breaker. Why printed images matter Back in the ’90s I remember walking back to our trade show booth behind two people from a neighbouring stand. They were into IT. As they approached our booth I heard one say to the other, “I feel sorry for these guys. How long can they last in the modern world?” It’s so long ago I feel like they must have been visionaries — how did they know To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” –  Oscar Wilde     In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world.      Oscar Hetherington is a Wanaka-raised surf and ocean photographer currently based in Dunedin to study and work. If you build your business on In-Person Sales, you have a huge advantage over competitors who can't — or won't — do the same. Online is great to get your name out there, great to sell prints to friends and family, fantastic for high volume, low price print sales … but, for high-end sales, getting face-to-face with your clients, in your studio, is best. In future posts, we'll talk more about sales strategies. It's easy for us to never think about the galaxy we're part of. Even Star Wars is about galaxies far, far away! But Paul Wison says that when you're away from the city, and your urban life, you see things in a very different light — literally. "You see stars like never before – whole galaxies gleaming in the distance, and suddenly you experience a combination of feeling both very insignificant, and incredibly lucky to be standing, frozen in time, staring into the distance and admiring a view that has taken aeons to conspire."
